2010 Chevrolet Camaro has Brake Weights |
This is very odd to see, a few muscle car enthusiasts over on the Camaro 5 website has spotted a very unusual Camaro with brake weights. As you look close there appears to be a set of wheel weights on the Brembo brake calipers. Many techs believe this is done to prevent brake squeal. The explanation is plausible, as resonant frequency is in large part determined by mass, and by changing the vibrating mass of the caliper with the weights, a troublesome squeal would be eliminated for a particular driving condition. I just hope that it doesn't make production because it doesn't look very good on your brake calipers. And any kind of weight that is unneeded shouldn't bother being on the muscle car in the first place.
