Pontiac being Dropped by GM |
 Very sad news for us Pontiac Enthusiasts today! General Motors has dropped the Pontiac division, we all knew this was going to happen after GM released some hints to the Detroit News a few months ago. I just didn't think it would hit me that hard when I heard it. I really almost started crying, I'm serious. It just shows us the sign of the times we're in. The economy is really starting to slip and the big three are starting to make some serious changes. I just can't believe GM would drop the whole Pontiac division.
There's a lot of elements that probably led to this. The horrible economy, Pontiac not making cars consumers wanted, and paying for expensive health insurance. I for one am kind of pissed off Pontiac never made a true GTO muscle car. Seems as though they just took the Australian platform and slapped some GTO badges on it. It's not surprising the car didn't do well in sales, but the main reason is the economy. If Americans don't have good paying jobs, how they hell are they going to be able to afford a nice car such as the Pontiac G8.
